The initiative for establishing a special court department for cases which the Special Public Prosecutions Office litigate received support from the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI). DUI spokesman Bujar Osmani said in a statement for “Alsat M” that his party essentially has nothing against such a decision.
“This is a serious issue, which cannot be discussed with questions from the media. If there is a will for such an initiative, it will have to go through the institutions, however, firstly it will have to be discussed by all the relevant parties who are signatories to the Pržino Agreement. If this initiative is opened at those negotiations, the DUI party will support the formation of a special department or office that will deal with the cases from the SPO”, said Osmani.
The idea for a special department within the Criminal Court was originally promoted by members of the academic community. When the court began to reject Katica Janeva’s request for custody one by one, the idea received wide public support, and became one of the requirements of the “Colourful Revolution.”
