By Tuesday everything should be ready, but negotiations are on stand-by

-

The deadlines haven’t been met for ten days now that thе working groups had set, under the Przino Agreement specifiaclly to agree on Electoral Legislation.

After two days SDSM left the working groups, and negotiations are at another standstill. Today the opposition announced they did not intend to return to the talks until Ms Janeva’s whole team was chosen.
The deadline was also not met for the working group who were negotiating matters over the media. Representatives of the parties were meant to review and address the problems in the media, however, they have only met once, and at that meeting no specific contracts or agreements were made and the question about the media remains open. It is still unknown when or whether these new meetings will take place that will address these problems.
Because of the blatant disregard of these deadlines and terms, it is possible that there will be more delays regarding solutions to other outstanding issues.
Since the Przino Agreement began, the only deadline respected was that for the Special Prosecutor, however, even that issue has not been completely resolved, because the Council of Public Prosecutors approved only half of the team that the Special Public Prosecutor Katica Janeva requested.

The agenda remains open for almost all the other issues that need a solution:

  • Inquiry Committee for the Assembly (deadline for formation: September the 15th, deadline for the first report in November)
  • Election Code (deadline: October the 6th)
  • Problems in the media (deadline October the 15th)
  • To provide money and facilities for the Special Public Prosecutor (October the 19th)
  • Provisional Government with Ministers and Deputy Ministers from SDSM (deadline October the 20th)
  • Drafts laws on whistle-blowers, and a moratorium on the “Bombs” (Deadline: October the 20th)
