Dimovski: The SEC today, at a public session will clarify when the voters’ list will be cleansed

-

The ruling party VMRO-DPMNE today called on the State Election Commission (SEC) to urgently hold a public session to clarify all dilemmas and doubts about how long it takes to cross check data bases concerning the electoral roll, and to include the eventual field-test.

Ilija Dimovski, MP and member of the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee said that the only way to resolve this dilemma which came to public attention on whether there is enough time, is to fully complete this procedure.

“According to our assessment, even if the SEC was to cross check the databases in the slowest and laziest way possible, it could still be completed in 14 days. According to the Constitution and laws, the SEC should be operational after parliament has been dissolved. When the need to prepare something this intense, it is unacceptable that this committee be given weekend breaks. We already know it does not work, but we hope that by the end of the day, we will resolve all these dilemmas”, said Dimovski at a press conference.

According to him, the SDSM through its members on the SEC committee are obstructing the cleansing of the voters’ lists and the experts on the committee are more interested in their personal interests than their work commitments.

When quizzed by the media as to whether it would be possible to change the date for the elections, and should the report from the international mediators of the Przhino Agreement be negative, Dimovski replied, that not for one moment has it even been suggested that the voters’ list will not be cleansed and ready on time.
