Today or the latest tomorrow, we can start cross-checking the Voters’ List, said interim Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev after his meeting with members of the SEC.
He said that the members of the SEC assured him that today the valorisation of the databases ends, and in a day or two they will start to purge the list, and it will be prepared for the elections on June the 5th.
Dimitriev emphasized he had a very constructive meeting with representatives of the State Election Commission, where they agreed what the government should do to support the SEC in any future steps, in order to incorporate all the deadlines for holding fair and credible elections.
“The members of the SEC assured me that with the extra time they got with the postponement of the date for holding elections, is more than enough time to achieve all of the SEC’s responsibilities. We as a government still share the view that the optimal and realistic deadline for elections was on April 24, and in reality we could have achieved everything for organized fair elections. I appealed that the change in the date for elections would not affect the positive atmosphere and ambience for organising the elections, or wait for the last day in the deadline to meet the obligations”, stresses Dimitirev.
He believes that the SEC is doing everything they can to fulfil all conditions and obligations.
