Today’s meeting of the Action groups will start at 1 o’clock in the Parliamentary Club in Skopje. The meeting should produce a concrete and acceptable proposal to all signatories of the Przhino Agreement.
According to the latest information, the positions of the parties are getting closer and it is expected that they will make concrete proposals that will mark the beginning of the constructive phase. It is expected that this meeting will close off the active questions about electoral list, the reach and composition of the Stete Elections Commission and voting in the diaspora.
It is most likely that the electoral list will be comprised through an active registration of the voters. It hasn’t been concluded yet whether registering will be mandatory. If VMRO-DPMNE loosens their stance regarding this issue and agrees on mandatory registration of voters, the chances are that they will keep their preference of voting by the diaspora.
SDSM will be represented today by Cvetanka Ivanova and Damjan Manchevski. VMRO-DPMNE will dispatch Nikola Poposki and Nikola Todorov. DUI will be represented by Artan Grubi and Musa Dzaferi, while DPA will be represented by Imer Aliu and Bekim Fazliu.
Peter van Houte will attend this meeting also.
At yesterday’s meeting, the Action groups talked about the State Elections Commission.
The Action groups are expected to start concrete talks on Friday for finding a legal framework for the reach and authority of the special prosecutor. This includes his or her selection and the span of his authority.
