Procedure for revoking SDSM mandates starts today

-

Six-month deadline from the verification of the mandates of opposition coalition, led by SDSM, expires today, but 31 of overall 34 MPs didn’t appear in Assembly even once.
In accordance with parliamentary procedure, Trajko Veljanovski, Speaker of the Assembly, will request from General Secretary of the Assembly to make a presence list of all 123 MPs.
After this, Speaker Veljanovski should submit the lists to the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Mandatory-Immunity Issues, which should suggest to the Assembly to discuss and vote on revocation of mandates of MPs who weren’t present at the Assembly even once, or to determine MPs’ resignations.
The session for revocation of mandated would be held at the end of this month or the beginning of the following month, and the decision should be brought by two-thirds majority.
