Demiri was not arrested, the Levica party demands the release of the two other members still under house arrest

-

The member from the Levica party, Mariglen Demiri who was called earlier for questioning was not arrested nor detained.
Demiri today was summoned for questioning by the Public Prosecution for participating in the protest which eventually ended up with a crowd of people ransacking the President’s Office.

Branimir Jovanovik from the Levica party, at today’s press conference, after the ‘interview’ with the Public prosecution, said that measures such as house arrest which two other members of the party are under, are too strict and are demanding that the sentences are revoked.

“On the Day of Victory over Fascism, an exceptional fighter against fascism and the regime was summoned for questioning for his role in an anti-fascist protest. As we beat the fascists 70 years ago, that is how we will win against you”, said Jovanovic.

He added that apart from the two members of the Levica party, who are currently under house arrest, and Demiri, who was summoned for questioning, that yesterday, another activist from the movement “Solidarity” was physically assaulted because he carried a banner.
