Civil Organizations present reform packet that will pull the country out of the crisis

Today, dozens of Civil Organizations and experts presented their “Proposal for Urgent Democratic Reforms”, a document which presents two concise directions for the way key democratic changes should be conducted in the country.

The main purpose of the document is to propose measures to implement urgent reforms that will create conditions for free, fair and credible elections.

The initiators say that the document covers urgent democratic reforms in key areas that were also recognized in the Priebe report, and in the document there are details for a various areas: public finance, economy, judiciary, fight against corruption, elections, media, public administration, control over the police and secret services, Parliament and civil organizations.

The initiative came from experts from various organizations:the Citizens Association “Most”, the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis”, the Institute for European Policy,the Institute of Communication Studies, the Macedonian Center for European Training, Foundation “Open Society” – Macedonia, Helsinki Committee, Centre for Economic Analysis and “Civil” – Centre for freedom.
