While Parliament were in session with the ongoing debate on an interpellation of the Health Minister Nikola Todorov, in front of Parliament citizens and activists chanted “Resign” and “For Todorov prison” and protested against his bad health policy.
They asked Minister Todorov to resign from office and to take political and moral responsibility.
“There must be accountability for a system that kills instead of cures! We, the citizens are aware that his resignation will not return little Tamara , nor will return all those who lost their lives in the labyrinths of the health system. But at the same time we realize that we must do everything to prevent new victims of the deadly reforms by the Health Minister Todorov. We want a quality health care system and which will effectively take care and heal patients. Citizens need a Minister who will not use their health for daily party politics. Health Minister Nikola Todorov’s mandate will be a legacy of lost and destroyed lives” said Adriana Selmani from the civil initiative “Ajde”.
Protesters carried banners read “Time to take responsibility Todorov”, “Our lives are not your party points”, “We want a system that heals, not kills”, the protesters then released audio recordings of statements by Minister Todorov regarding the little Tamara’s case, the recordings were parts of speeches and statements where Todorov publicly defends himself and the way he runs the Health Ministry.
