The Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte expects that solving the name dispute will help boost the efforts for the resolution of the Macedonian Church issue.
-The process about the name of the country of Macedonia is still underway. When all the details are determined, most certainly the resolution of the church issue will also move forward – said the Head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church (BOC) for the BGNES after today’s liturgy in the Saint Kyriake Orthodox Cathedral in Sofia.
When asked about the BOC’s position regarding the independence of the Ukrainian church, the Patriarch Neophyte said that this issue will soon be discussed.
- This important issue will be on the agenda. We shall discuss it – said the Patriarch Neophyte, without providing any more details.
