Brussels: For Hahn, the constitutional majority meant a broad consensus and a broad coalition

-

When the European Commissioner Johannes Hahn used the term “constitutional majority” during his speech in front of  the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, he spoke of the necessity of a wider political consensus and a wider coalition government, as was explained to “Meta” the EU’s spokesperson.

– The Commissioner was referring to the need to have a broad political consensus and a broad-based coalition so that the country can deal effectively with the many challenges ahead. Implementing the urgent reform priorities, the Przino agreement and resolving the bilateral issues at hand will require a strong commitment across all political parties – said EU’s spokesperson

Brussels reminds that the main political parties in Macedonia have pledged to implement the reforms and that the Euro-Atlantic aspirations are part of their agendas.

-All the main parties are in favor of the EU reform agenda and agree that the EU path is a strategic objective for the country. If they work together towards this shared objective, they will have a de facto constitutional majority that is important along the path of European integration- said EU’s spokesperson
