The national debt clock, which was installed at the Triumphal Gate last night, was paid for, personally by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, and will be in operation soon, said government spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski at a scheduled press conference.

He went on to say that all the correct procedures were followed when setting up the numeral debt clock, and Zaev, as a citizen of the Republic of Macedonia, sent a request for consent for the installation of an electronic screen and also that was also paid by him.

“Of course, there was a procedure, procedure and documentation is complete following the submission of the request, for approval and placement. As the public is already aware, it will be announced when misappropriated funds from ongoing trials have been returned to the budget of the Republic of Macedonia”, Bosnjakovski explained.

On 22nd of November , 2016, during the campaign for the pre-election for the early parliamentary elections (December 2016), Zaev at a party rally in the Skopje municipality of Aerodrom promised, that stolen public money will be returned to the state and that the national debt clock set at “Porta Makedonija” in Skopje, would register that.
