Bishop Petar arrested for theft and perjury, confirm Australian Police

-

Australian police confirmed to “Meta” that in Melbourne last week, they arrested and questioned Bishop Petar, the Diocese of both Australia and New Zealand. He is under investigation for theft and perjury.

“Victoria Police have arrested and interviewed a 70-year-old Caroline Springs man as part of an ongoing investigation into theft and perjury. He has been released pending further enquiries”, said police in Victoria, when answering questions from “Meta” as to why Bishop Petar was arrested and on what grounds.

Last week Bishop Petar denied that police in Melbourne had arrested him, claiming that he had been merely questioned after receiving a summons. He insisted that the news of his arrest was a lie and had been made-up by the Bishop Naum of Strumica, and abbot Gabriel, who are currently undergoing church-canonical proceedings concerning their possible dismissal.
