Negotiations between “High school plenum” and the Ministry of Education and Science will continue, and the demands of high school students will be debated at today’s session of the government. After the meeting, high school students say they didn’t receive a particular promise, but are optimistic and believe that they will find an understanding of the Ministry of Education and Science. The representatives at the meeting presented their views and requests and are waiting for a response from the government, and, in the meantime, the boycott of classes will continue.
– We expect to reach a compromise that will satisfy both sides as soon as possible. We are trying to achieve a result that will please us, the students, most. We will take a broader discussion regarding graduation and external testing. We are ready to go back to the old concept of state graduation and we are willing to make substantial changes in the external testing. We did not receive any specific promise, we will have a second meeting, probably tomorrow, after the proposals discussed today undergo a session of the Government. The boycott of classes continues until an official compromise is reached. After the meeting, the Minister and his deputy are more willing and open to compromise – said high school student Dejan Rajkovski.
At the meeting between “High school plenum,” Minister of Education and Science Abdilakim Ademi and Deputy Minister Spiro Ristovski was decided they to jointly agree on how high school students would make up the lost classes on one of the next meetings.
