The US Ambassador to Macedonia, Jess Bailey, in a written statement regarding the political situation in Macedonia, said that the Przhino Agreement must be implemented and called on all parties and organizations to participate in the elections.

“Implementation of Przino agreement is essential for deepening Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, something the United States strongly supports. The resignation of the Prime Minister is an important milestone in that process. So too are credible elections. We will continue to support the preparations for the elections, notably the work of the State Election Commission, as well as reforms in the media environment and elsewhere. Time is short. We urge all parties and organizations to participate in elections; that is the best way to improve institutions and ensure a credible process. The United States will monitor progress on this process and make our assessments, as will the EU, the OSCE, and other bodies.” Says Bailey.
