Almost all health workers that are working with COVID-19 patients in North Macedonia have registered for vaccination, informed the Health Minister Venko Filipche, who explained that their number is around 4.000 people. There are around 3.000 doctors and 9.000 nurses, and recently the Health Ministry published the results of a poll they carried out showing that 70 to 80% of the health workers in the public or the private health institutions want to be vaccinated.

The decision is made about the storage of the vaccines, i.e. the refrigerators for the vaccines that will be shipped from China will be located in the Health Center Skopje.

“As soon as the vaccines arrive, we can start immediately with the vaccination. The citizens will be able to confirm through their primary care physician and the “Moj termin” system for getting doctor appointments if they want to get vaccinated. The elderly citizens above 70 will be part of the first round of vaccinations. All of this will be processed through the primary care physicians. Later on, it will be determined the location and the hour when the vaccination will be performed in accordance with the address of living,” informed the minister.

On Monday, he signed the agreement for purchasing vaccines against COVID-19 from the Chinese company Sinofarm. With this agreement, the Republic of North Macedonia will receive 200.000 vaccines that will arrive during this month. The Health Ministry stated that the exact date when the vaccines will arrive and all other information will be known these days.

“In accordance with an article from the agreement for secrecy, and in accordance with the global policy of all companies for the production of vaccines, including Sinofarm, the information in the contract remain confidential,” said the ministry.
