Prime Minister Zoran Zaev announced last week that German and Austrian Chancellors Angela Merkel and Sebastian Kurz, as well as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg are scheduled to visit this week.
At the tribune in Berovo, he stressed that “the fact that three world statesmen will visit Skopje this week, is another positive sign, recognition and support for Macedonia.”
“Stoltenberg arrives on Wednesday, for the second time in six months, on Friday, Austrian Chancellor Kurtz and on Saturday, Merkel arrives. The arrival of three world statesmen is recognition for Macedonia, a positive sign. They are giving us their hand to move forward,” said Zaev.
He added that “this is the moment when together with the opposition, we should unite for a European Macedonia”. Zaev again expressed confidence that Macedonian citizens will not miss this historic opportunity.
