There was a clear reaction to the decision of the Council of Public Prosecutors when they approved only seven of the fourteen candidates as assistant prosecutors to Katica Janeva from the American Embassy in Macedonia. The Embassy of the United States said they are concerned about the decision made by the Council.
“We are concerned about the decision of the Council of Public Prosecutors and we will be looking into the situation” , was the reaction from the US Embassy.
Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte also reacted to the Councils decision. According to him, the decision of the Council violates the Law on the Special Public Prosecutor which all political parties signed and should be respected.
Following the decision of the Council, SDSM left the negotiations of the working groups.
