Ambassadors give their support to Katica Janeva and the Special Public Prosecution

Today at the EU Info Centre, EU Ambassadors and Ambassador Aivo Orav came together and met with the Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, which just happened to be on her birthday, and expressed their support for her work.
“All of the Ambassadors from the European Union in Skopje express their strong support for the independence of the Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva and her work,” wrote the EU Ambassador wrote on his “Twitter” account.

The meeting between Janeva and the Ambassadors had not been announced, and after the meeting, statements weren’t published, neither the EU Delegation would disclose more details on their meeting. Looking at the published photograph from Ambassdor Orav’s “Twitter” account, at the meeting with Janeva, except for Orav, Ambassadors from Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Britain and other member states were present.
Katica Janeva yesterday met with Graham Styles from the British Foreign Office, where it was pointed out that support from political parties for the Special Public Prosecutor’s work is important for the future of Macedonia. The British Ambassador Charles Garrett announced this meeting also through his “Twitter” account.

Last week the Special Prosecutorn also met with US Ambassador Jess Bailey, and the US delegation to the OSCE Mission who called upon the ruling party VMRO-DPMNE and other political parties to support the work of the SPP.

Meetings with representatives from the diplomatic corps come at a time when Janeva is facing a total of 19 criminal charges.
