Today the Government and the opposition are to resume talks with working groups after last night they made progress on electoral reform and the threat about a law prohibiting the publication of the “Bombs,” said the US Embassy in Macedonia.
“Working groups who implement the Przino Agreement, last night made progress on issues related to elections and agreed again to resume negotiations today. The parties also agreed that the issue of the proposed criminalizing of the publications of the illegally obtained information to initiate working groups to discuss such a possible legal solution in a package with a legal solution for the protection of the so called whistle-blowers, all these issues are to be resolved before October the 20th”, said the US Embassy.
According to the Embassy, these laws raise serious questions about freedom of expression, the right of citizens to good governance and privacy and that it should all be addressed in accordance with the international obligations Macedonia has undertaken.
