Althauser: Nobody knows whether there will be elections on June 5

-

Without a cleansed electoral roll, balanced media reporting and without the separation of the state and the party, it is uncertain whether early parliamentary elections on June 5 will be held and now nobody can know. This was stated by the German Ambassador, Christine Althauser at a debate organized by the NGO “Civil” on “Pluralism and the political crisis”, reports “Telma.”

“Nobody knows whether there will be elections on June 5. Elections do not signify the end of a process, but just one of many steps the country must take to regain its Euro-Atlantic perspective. The Przhino Agreement is still alive, and is still active, some parts of it have been implemented, but some are still being negotiated. Which ever government comes to power post- elections must be held accountable in terms of Euro-Atlantic policy, based on the obligations stipulated in the Agreement”, said the German Ambassador.
