DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, believes that elections should be held on April 24 because the agreement should be respected, which was signed by domestic and foreign representatives.
“We have all been wondering whether to hold or not to hold elections on April 24. But let me tell you, April 24 was discussed and debated with Commissioner Hahn, and other foreign representatives, and the four political parties and everyone accepted that date. Now these same people have agreed to this date, want to change it. We should not act like children, so if someone wants something, should we satisfy them”, said Ahmeti at yesterday’s meeting in Tetovo.
Ahmeti said that Macedonia does not have the time to wait and should hold elections as soon as possible to stabilize the country, which has been in a political crisis for a long period of time.
“In our view, we can’t not go to elections in April and reschedule for another month, because we are not doing things “last minute” but we are doing things “last second”. In June this year is, the NATO summit is scheduled to take place, where the main theme will be the refugee influx , and discussions will be about safety and security for most of the region and beyond. If we do not realize what has already been agreed, then we are contributing to the destabilization of the country, obstructing our economic development, investments and the security of the citizens”, said Ali Ahmeti.
