The Association of Journalists of Macedonia states that the re-election of Marjan Cvetkovski as manager of the Macedonian Radio-television will not contribute to the reformation of the public broadcasting service and its liberation from political control, said AJM’s reaction.

They said that the choice of Cvetkovski is the result of the great pressure that was exerted by VMRO-DPMNE and DUI on members of the Program Council.

“AJM warns that the reforms in the national broadcasting service mustn’t be a subject of a political trade between the government and the opposition, that would damage the public interest,” said the press release.

Previously, when the government’s spokesperson, Mile Boshnjakovski, was asked about his reaction after Cvetkovski was reinstated, he said that “this choice will be valid until we pass the Law for audio and audio-visual services.”
