Ahmeti: We will discuss the option of remaining in the opposition

-

The leader of DUI, Ali Ahmeti, before the meeting of the Central Presidency of the party, said there is a small possibility to reach an agreement today.

When asked by the media whether DUI will come to their final decision today, to award their signatures to form a government, Ahmeti said that one of the options is that DUI remains in the opposition.

“Today we willl discuss the options for DUI about remaining in the opposition”, said Ahmeti.

The Central Presidency of DUI was meant to start the meeting at 10:00 am this morning, but it has been postponed to 13:00 pm.

Yesterday, the leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, while in Sarajevo announced that DUI had decided to give SDSM their signatures to form the government which, according to Zaev will be established in the first half of March.

“I know that the DUI leadership last night reached the decision to give us their signatures because as the second ranked party, we were conditioned by President Gjorge Ivanov to provide signatures to receive the mandate. Now we have secured the signatures to receive the mandate. I believe that a small part of the negotiations remain on forming a government because the most important issues, which will be part of the future government program, such as the platform of the Albanian political parties, and the Law on the use of languages, have managed to align. These were the substantial differences. What remains now, is to sit down with leaders of the other parties and to arrange the departments, the personnel in certain areas of government and I believe that in 10-15 days, Macedonia will have a new government led by SDSM”, said Zaev.
