Ahmeti: DUI Against Active Registration of Voters

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) is against the proposal for the active registration of voters because its a contradiction to “the spirit of voting and of the guarantee of the right for every citizen to vote ”, said the President of the Party, Ali Ahmeti, during today ‘s meeting with the Ambassador from the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the country, Willem Wouter Plomp said in a statement about integration for the meeting.

Mr Ahmeti at the meeting pointed out that DUI believes in and stands for a “transparent administration and the clean up of the list of voters with checks out in the field, and door to door.”

DUI has informed the Public that Mr Ahmeti and Mr Plomp, talked about political happenings, that apply to the implementation of the agreement on the 2nd of June when early parliamentary elections are scheduled for next year in April, and the integration of Macedonia into NATO and the European Union (EU).

“President Ahmeti expressed hope that the team of the Special Prosecutor will work honorably and with precision, while the Democratic Union for Integration fully supports the process,” they said in an announcement from DUI.

The leader of the DUI and the Dutch Ambassador spoke about inter-ethnic relations as a pillar of stability in the country, and Mr Ahmeti expressed his gratitude to the Dutch government’s support for the Ohrid Framework Agreement.
