-

The Skopje Prosecution Office after three months still regards the case into Kosta Krpač’s death as “ongoing” after he was found dead in his apartment in Kapishtec with a gun wound to the chest.

The Prosecution on June 2 stated that the investigation had shown that his death was a suicide, however, they are still looking into the circumstances regarding his death.

When asked by “Meta” whether the preliminary investigation was finished, and whether there is a deadline for the investigation, the Prosecution said that they had received a majority of the reports by experts, however, they are still “waiting for a very small portion of information”.

“We would like to state that the Public Prosecution are still treating this investigation as active and ongoing. Most of our requests for information from experts have been answered, we are still waiting for a very small portion of that information. After, there will be an overall analysis, and the verdict on our findings will be made public”, answered the Prosecution.

On May 17, twenty days after Mr Krpač was found dead in his apartment, the prosecution told journalists from “Meta” that they are intensively working on the case and that they have received a large portion of reports from the competent experts.

Krpač was one of the 56 people who had been pardoned by President Gjorge Ivanov on Apri 12.

Krpač’s body was found on April 27, a few hours after he fired a gun from his balcony into a van parked around 50 meters from his building.

The Special Public Prosecution stated a day after he was found dead, that he was a witness in one of the investigations led by the SPO, but was not a suspect. Prosecutor and spokesperson for the SPO, Lence Ristoska, at a press conference held on June 3, responded to reporters’ questions and said that the SPO have in their possession a statement made by Kosta Krpač that he had received threats.
