A rain of criminal charges, and street like techniques of pressure pour on Janeva

-

Twelve new criminal charges have been brought against several people working at Katica Janeva’s Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPP). With this, the number of criminal charges filed against employees of the SPP now stands at 19, and three of the charges are against prosecutors who are in Janeva’s personal and hand picked team.
The first criminal charge is against three prosecutors from the SPP, another against an employee from the Ministry of Interior which had been submitted in the last ten days, at the end of January, and the last charges were submitted at the end of last week.

Filing criminal charges against prosecutors in such a short period of time is extremely rare, or rather an unknown phenomenon in the judicial practice, experts have interpreted these recent events as precedent and as organized pressure.
University Professor Gordan Kalajdziev said to “Meta” he can not confirm whether the Prosecutors from the SPP had exceeded their authorization, but the number of charges filed shows how much pressure is being put on Janeva and the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

“While I can not claim whether there were excesses or not, such an infestation of charges in such a short period of time and in the atmosphere that it has occurred in, indicates abuse by structures in the Ministry of Interior (MOI) of VMRO-DPMNE, which together with the Public Prosecutor’s Office can be seen as a front that is putting pressure on the Special Prosecutor’s Office”, said Professor Kalajdziev.

“This sudden rain of criminal charges which have poured on top of the SPP, is perverse, street like techniques, pressure and a direct attack on the SPP”, says University Professor Frčkoski.
When asked whether there are similar examples so far in the judiciary – in such a short time to submit so many charges – Professor Frčkoski says it is incomparable to anything, and that the issue is that “those who are running this campaign, create their own film, and they believe it is legitimate by some statistics.”
