The Health Ministry informed that the Institute for Public Health registered 16 recovered patients, one each in Skopje, Kumanovo and Bitola, four in Prilep and nine in Veles. Two patients from Tetovo passed away. At the Clinic for Infectious Diseases a 74 year old patient passed away, while a patient aged 57 passed away at the “8th of September” hospital.
A group of epidemiologists from the Institute for Public Health arrived today in Shtip to investigate the situation in this city since in the past few days since the number of newly infected with COVID-19 surged there. with a textile factory becoming a virus hotspot.
By noon, the Center for Public Health in Shtip registered 9 new cases while the Ministry of Health’s evidence, according to yesterday’s testing, has 4 newly infected, out of which 2 are textile workers. Over 130 citizens were put into isolation.
In the meantime, all of municipality’s resources have been put into use in order to prevent the virus’ spread into other textile factories, said the city’s mayor Blagoj Bochvarski.
The same bus that drove the infected workers also drove workers of three more factories. So far the infected are part of one factory which has been closed for the past three days.
