21.060 Pfizer vaccines will arrive in North Macedonia by the end of this month

The producer of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer company has sent today to the Health Ministry the agreement for purchasing vaccines, which covers the delivery of 800.280 vaccine doses throughout the year to the Republic of North Macedonia. According to the agreement, the delivery of the vaccines will happen in 4 turns and the first delivery will happen during this month, when 21.060 doses of vaccines will be delivered.

“The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines are packed in multiple-dose vials, where one vial can provide 6 doses of vaccines. The vaccine is kept and distributed from a refrigerator at -70 degrees Centigrade, and in an ordinary fridge, it can be kept up to 5 days at temperatures between 2 and 8 degrees. Diluted, it can be used for up to 6 hours. Our health system is completely ready for implementation of the vaccination” explained the Health Ministry.

This was confirmed today by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev who announced that the country will receive more quantities of vaccines during the second, third, and fourth quarters. Zaev replied to public criticism about the government’s incompetence and lack of seriousness toward the Macedonian citizens with the prolongation of the vaccine purchase.
