Žbogar: We look forward to the new government, now the parties have to decide what kind of government

-

The European Union are expecting as soon as possible, a new government to be formed, and are focusing on European integration processes in the country, supported by all political parties, said Ambassador Samuel Žbogar during his visit to Prilep as part of the project “EU for you.”

“We are impatiently looking forward to the formation of the new government. We can see that all political parties in the country support the agenda of the European Union. We believe that this EU agenda is the centre that will unite all political parties in the country and this agenda will always require broad support, not only from the parties in power but also from the opposition. Precisely in that manner and in that context we see a strong government that will push or work on the implementation of the EU agenda and make progress”, said Žbogar, while answering journalists’ questions.

When asked whether a broad coalition will put an end to the political crisis in the country, Žbogar replied that it is up to the work of the political parties in Parliament to decide what kind of coalition and what kind of government they want to form.

“We, as the EU, do not have a position or view on the matter. However, it is in our interest for a strong coalition in a broader context to be formed. Regardless whether the parties are in power or in the opposition, everyone should support the implementation of the EU agenda”, said Ambassador Žbogar.
