Zoran Zaev, as the President of SDSM and in the name of the coalition will be holding talks with DUI’s President, Ali Ahmeti about a potential joint i.e., consensual candidate for the presidential elections.
The meeting will take place today at 12.30 h at the Club of the organs of the state administration (previously known as Club of MPs).
Previously, DUI decided to come out with their own candidate for the presidential elections, but still, the party said that it is open to SDSM’s proposals.
Last night, SDSM held its first meeting with the parties in its coalition on the subject of a consensual presidential candidate. The meeting wasn’t attended by LDP’s President, Milevski who announced that his party will run with its own candidate.
According to the press release about the meeting, a general agreement was reached on a leadership level from the coalition parties led by SDSM to support a joint candidate for a president of the state as well as to act together at the forthcoming presidential elections.
The consultations among the coalition partners regarding the candidate are still underway.
