The Mayor of the municipality of Strumica and leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, at today’s session of the municipality’s council announced that he is resigning as Mayor because he is will be taking another position.
Zaev did not announce which position he will be taking, and at the Council’s session, where the budget of the municipality was discussed, he announced that he be will appointing the counselor of the Council, Kostadin Kostadinov as a Deputy Mayor.
“This is my last session at the Municipal Council of Strumica… In the coming days my resignation as Mayor will come into force because I will be taking another position and in accordance with the law, I would like to inform the counselors, media, and the citizens that in the upcoming days I will appoint a Deputy Mayor. I nominate counselor Kostadin Kostadinov for Deputy, who will fulfill his duty in accordance with the law until the appointment of Acting Mayor of the municipality of Strumica until the elections,” announced Zaev, reports “24 News“.
Zoran Zaev won a seat in Parliament in the third electoral district as a list carrier of the Coalition led by SDSM and recently he has started announcing more often that he will be essential in assembling the next government.
