Zaev is optimist that a solution for the name will be found that will be appropriate for both sides

-

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev announced today that he is an optimist and that he believes that a solution to the name dispute will be found that will be appropriate both for Macedonia and Greece.

He confirmed that a meeting has been set with his Greek colleague, Alexis Tsipras on the 24th of January in Davos.

-I’m an optimist and I believe that between the two countries that are friendly and have an intention of getting even closer, a solution will be found where the dignity of both sides will be kept, and which in turn will prove to be a gain for both countries – said Zaev while in Struga where he stayed regarding the celebration of Epiphany (Vodici).

He stressed that there shouldn’t have been a public talk about the framework that was proposed by the mediator, Matthew Nimetz, in order not to disrupt the chances in the negotiations.

-Everything that we do will be verified on a referendum. We, including DUI, VMRO-DPMNE and other political parties have either the same or similar opinions about this issue. We shall take care of our identity, the dignity of our nation, but we have to take care for the current and future generations – said Zaev.
