The Macedonian Prime Minister, Zoran Zaev gave an interview for the Montenegrin radio “Antena M” where he stated that he expects a fierce reaction from Russia when the moment arrives for Macedonia’s accession into NATO, but he stresses that the North-Atlantic Alliance and the European Union are the country’s only alternative.

Zaev, who was a guest in the “Živa vistina” (Nothing But the Truth) radio show on the Montenegrin radio, has stated that he is convinced that Macedonia will be NATO’s 30th member and that he is ready for a fierce reaction from Moscow, as was the case with the accession of Montenegro into NATO.

-They reacted about Montenegro. We are ready because my country does not have any alternatives. We want to promote our cooperation with Russia and we want, for eg. to sell more tomatoes, cabbages, and other agriculture products. Still, we have no alternative as our choice is EU and NATO- said Zaev.

The Macedonian Prime Minister says that he is ready for everything in order to accomplish these goals and for making decisions that the Macedonian citizens expect him to because, as he stressed, that is our only option.
