Zaev expects an intensification of the process around the name dispute and he had talks with Ivanov regarding the process

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev expects that by the end of this month the efforts for solving the name dispute with Greece to get intensified, for which, as he has confirmed already, he already had discussions with the President of the state, Gjorge Ivanov.

-There is a hope that in an surrounding of strongly expressed friendly relations with the neighbors, including Greece, that we have greater chances to find a solution. I expect that by the end of this month the things to intensify. I’m at disposal for meetings on a prime minister-level and the minister of foreign affairs is also ready. We already had talks with the president of the state, since Macedonia has to be ready for a step forward in the process of solving this issue -said Zaev, while he was answering questions at today’s press conference at the Government.

He also said that he hopes that the opposition will also be included as much as it can in the process, but not with blockades and obstacles but in the function of doing its best in providing solutions for this bitter problem that is an obstacle for Macedonia’s Euro-integration processes.

When asked previously about the initiative for renaming the Skopje airport and to have the name of the former Macedonian president Kiro Gligorov, Zaev said that he liked the proposal, but that he needs to hear and take into account the opinion of the citizens.
