The President of the Parliament, Talat Xhaferi didn’t accept the request from the coordinator of one of VMRO-DPMNE’s 10 MP groups, Ilija Dimovski, for the session for the dismissal of the state Public Prosecutor Marko Zvrlevski to continue on Monday and has set the continuation of the discussion for tomorrow starting at 11 h.
Today’s continuation of the session for dismissal of the public prosecutor occurred without tensions but with remarks and counter-remarks among VMRO-DPMNE’s MPs, and apart from mutual outsmarting, there wasn’t a greater nervousness neither by the end when Xhaferi didn’t grant Dimovski’s request.
-Today’s behavior was a result of each MP’s behavior separately. As long as there is work to do we have to continue working. You set the dynamics of the flow of the debate. I cannot discontinue the debate. Today we have 60 calls for remarks for two MPs who apart from two MPs all of the others are VMRO-DPMNE’s MPs. I will leave the citizens to evaluate my work as I don’t expect that to be done by those that don’t recognize me – said Xhaferi.
Even today, VMRO-DPMNE’s MPs issued remarks and counter-remarks demanding a discussion about the raging fires, the indebtedness, the refugee strategy, the Law for languages, the dump near Struga and the personnel changes at various state institutions, instead of Zvrlevski’s dismissal which to them is illegal as it is occurring in a period when local elections have been announced.
Previously, part of VMRO-DPMNE’s MPs attacked the media and the NGO’s that are working for the government by criticizing the opposition as if they are blocking the dismissal of the public prosecutor instead of reporting about more important issues.
