Trump continues the validity of the blacklist for Macedonia – 10 people are a threat to the USA

-

American President Donald Trump asked Congress to extend the validity for the so called “threat against national interests to the USA” from the region of the West Balkans, a document which was adopted in June, 2001, by George W. Bush.

The document covers Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Macedonia and it stipulates that these countries still pose a threat from “persons who assist or support extreme violence”.

Otherwise, this is the first decision signed by Trump, which refers to the Western Balkans and Macedonia, after he assumed the post of US President in January of this year.Tramp crna lista odluka

The so-called blacklist is said to include individuals who “are hostile to United States interests and continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. ”

On the list, from Macedonia, there are 10 people, mostly former National Liberation Army (NLA) commanders, some of whom are in the new composition of Parliament.

The ten individuals are Xhevat Ademi, Gafur Adili, Nuri Bexheti, Nevzat Halili, Xhavit Hasani, Kastriot Hashiroj, Dzemat Rexhepi, Xhezir Shakiri and Menduh Thaci.

From the list, current parliamentary members are Xhevat Ademi from DUI and Menduh Thaci from the opposition DPA.

Particularly for Macedonia, it was said that the list was revised in 2003 “to take steps against the obstruction of the implementation of the Framework Agreement”.

The list, which includes persons covered by this decision, was published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which operates within the US Department of the Treasury.
