Zoran Zaev is the first mandatary to sign guarantees not to disrupt the highest state and national interests. Such a thing was never asked of by Branko Crvenkovski, Hari Kostov nor Vlado Buckovski. It speaks volumes about the seriousness of the warnings and information about the risk facing Macedonia, said Nikola Todorov at a VMRO-DPMNE press conference, just after President Gjorge Ivanov gave the mandate to the president of SDSM.
Todorov assessed that Zoran Zaev’s guarantees for the protection of territorial integrity, unitary and a multiethnic Macedonia, were due to “the victory engineered by the political opposition VMRO-DPMNE and 80 long days of protests which hundreds and thousands of citizens participated in across the country.”
The member of the VMRO-DPMNE Executive Committee accused SDSM and Zaev of causing the political crisis, because, as he says, VMRO-DPMNE offered their support for a government that would reject the platform of the Albanian parties, SDSM dismissed this, and that is why is came to “political violence just before the selection of Talat Xhaferi as Speaker of Parliament.”
