MOC’s Synod demands the preservation of the unitary form of the country and a census

-

The Holy Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA) has expressed great concern regarding the current situation of Macedonian society and calls for mutual respect, forgiveness, and responsibility.

The Synod of the MOC, through a statement after today’s session is appealing to all political leaders to preserve the constitutional position of the Macedonian language on the territory of Macedonia, in accordance with the Constitution and the unitary form of the country.

“We see the present and the future of Macedonia through preserving Macedonia’s unitary characteristics, and all this is necessary for mutual conciliation and national unity. We should strive towards that, our faithful people should be guided by evangelical Christian values. The Macedonian national state and strategic interests can only be preserved if all of us take personal responsibility which means living in accordance with God’s commandments, obeying the state institutions and the national rights that are guaranteed by R. of Macedonia’s Constitution”, said the statement issued by the Synod of the MOC-OA.

According to the Synod, Macedonia needs a population census which has to be implemented, not to take away anyone’s rights, but for the realization for all the citizens to feel the benefits that live in this country.
