The SEC want to see the records from polling station 2011 to determine when the ballot went missing

-

The State Election Commission has started to act on the complaints by SDSM regarding voting at certain polling stations and have had a long discussion on the first of the eight complaints, which refers to the polling station 2011 in the sixth district.

At the polling station, according to SDSM’s complaint, at the start of the voting process it was concluded that a ballot was missing, however, it was found in the ballot box at the end of the count.

In this situation, according to the Electoral Code, the electoral board should not have started the voting process due to missing election material. Even though the missing ballot was reported in the records by the election board, voting, however, continued and was conducted to the end.

SEC member from the SDSM, Igor Milev, claims that the grounds for their complaint related to the polling station are justified and founded.

“Before voting started, the voting electoral board concluded that a ballot was missing. Therefore, they notified and the Municipal Election Commission. However, voting continued, which is a classical violation of the Electoral Code”, added Milev.

SEC member Silvana Boneva, from the VMRO-DPMNE, says there is nothing controversial because the ballot was found in the box in the end.

The members of the SEC have asked to see the records ‘number 15’ to determine whether this certain ballot was missing before voting began or after voting began.
