The Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stated that the participation of the Macedonian delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos as fruitful and successful informs the government.
“Macedonia’s political friends and the potential business investors have sent us a clear message that the reforms are key for the economic prosperity. As the world leaders state, we have to be careful about the development of the local communities. We have to invest in the people’s skills and to guarantee a safe work back at home. That is the main topic here at Davos. This is what we are going to be discussing at home as well” said Zaev as soon as the Summit at Davos ended today.
He said that the Forum is of great importance for this country as after many years of isolation, the political leaders in Macedonia and the region have again participated on the global economic and political scene.
“Our stance here is known, the Western Balkans is creating a joint future as part of the EU and NATO. Here in Davos, the developing countries have a unique possibility to study and to be inspired by the world’s economic leaders i.e. those that trailblaze the road for the world’s development. Macedonia’s integration abroad, the reforms and the economic measures at home, are key for the development and our country’s inner development” said Zaev.
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, he also met with the prime ministers of the countries in the region including representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, Microsoft, Phillips and the EU Commissioner, Johannes Hahn.
