The constitutive session of Parliament, where MPs are debating positions for president, vice-president, members and deputies for the Commission on Elections and Appointments, will continue tomorrow afternoon.
SDSM MP, Oliver Spasovski asked the session to continue even after 18:00, but Veljanoski didn’t allow the session to continue and has scheduled a continuation tomorrow at noon.
Almost the entire session was spent on replies and counter replies by MPs from VMRO-DPMNE regarding the Albanian platform, as well as “keeping the country’s unitarity and sovereignty.”
Meanwhile, 20 MPs formally proposed Talat Xhaferi as a candidate for President of Parliament.
Petre Shilegov, an MP for SDSM said that MPs from VMRO-DPMNE broke rules and regulations with their back and forth replies and if this continues, the system will collapse.
The Besa Movement announced that they will not support the candidacy of Talat Xhaferi for president of Parliament and they have proposed an MP of their own. The party says their candidate has credibility and is not associated with crime and corruption, but that their candidate wasn’t considered by SDSM, DUI or the Albanian Alliance.
