With 63 affirmative votes, at Parliament this afternoon, the draft law for naming and additions at the Election Code was voted with which the local elections will be held in October, and the mandates of the mayors and the members of municipality councils have now been prolonged until the newly elected functionaries will resume their positions after the upcoming local elections.
This legal change will allow the municipalities to work without obstruction as they were blocked since March of the 23rd when under the previous version of the Election Code, the mandates of the members of the municipality councils had expired.
The bill was passed through a fast track procedure by Oliver Spasovski, Ejup Aljimi, Afrim Gashi and Vesel Memedi.
