The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu has met today with the president of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, as well as with the president of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski.
“At the meeting, it was discussed the further deepening of the bilateral relations and the increase of the cooperation between Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Turkey. President Ivanov expressed his gratitude for the tight and principal support provided by the Republic of Turkey regarding our strategic goals, and he stressed that the Republic of Macedonia appreciates strongly the support Turkey gives regarding the use of Republic of Macedonia’s constitutional name and the integration of the country into NATO” said the press release issued by the president’s cabinet.
Both converses have greeted the economic cooperation with an expectancy of its further intensification, as well as the good cooperation in the domain of the defense. President Ivanov thanked for the logistic help for equipping, education and training for the members of ARM including all the humanitarian aid received by the Republic of Turkey, said the press release issued by the president’s cabinet.
The president of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski along with Nikola Todorov, a member of the Executive Committee of the party, during the meeting with the Turkish Minister for Foreign Affairs Cavusoglu spoke about Macedonia’s strategic interests regarding the Euro-Atlantic integrations and the current political situation announced VMRO-DPMNE.
Gruevski has thanked for the support provided by Turkey and has spoken about the constructive and the active role the Turkish community has played in Macedonia’s democratic development.
