Farmers will block the borders if they don’t receive subventions by Friday

Strumica, 25 April, 2017 - 17:00 (META)

Revolted by the non-payment of subventions, between 12:00 and 13:00, today, farmers will block various roads in the country. They demand to meet the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy, Mihail Cvetkov by Friday, the Minister of Finance, Kiril Minoski, and the manager of the Payment Agency, Igor Zlatkov.

“We demand meetings at these three institutions to see who is lying and who is playing with the farmers’ troubles. Until Friday there will not be any protests and blockades”,  said for Meta the President of the Union of the Farmers’ syndicate in the region of Strumica, Risto Velkov.

If the demands for the payments aren’t met, the farmers from the Pelagonia region will take more radical measures i.e. they are threatening with blockades of border passings.
