At today’s session, the Constitutional Court with a majority of votes decided to start a procedure for determining the constitutionality and the legality of Article 50 of the Law on Urban Planning and Construction especially Paragraph 2 of this article and the term “of special interest.”
“A building of special interest for which an urbanistic-planning documentation determined with paragraph 1 of this article is determined by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia” is stated in article 50, paragraph 2 of the Law on Urban Planning and Construction.
By accepting the initiative, the Constitutional Court has temporarily stopped the government’s decision on decorating the City Trade Center (GTC), Macedonian Opera and Ballet (MOB) and the National University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” with baroque facades.
