The biggest laboratory for producing synthetic drugs in Southeastern Europe was discovered yesterday in Tetovo and Skopje, announced today the Public Prosecution.
The laboratory was discovered in a joint action by the Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption and the Ministry of Interior, and in the pre-trial procedure also took part in Serbia’s Public Prosecution for Organized Crime and the Ministry of Interior, through a joint investigation team with Macedonian legal organs.
In the action that was carried out yesterday in the area of Tetovo and Skopje a whole installation for manufacturing synthetic drugs was discovered including huge quantities of drugs and raw materials for its production.
“It’s about an internationally organized criminal group consisting of citizens of the Republic of Serbia and Macedonian citizens that illegally produced, owned, transported and mediated in the sale and purchase including other ways of illegally distributing narcotics, psychotropic substances, and precursors. Simultaneously, the group in Tetovo has manufactured an illegal laboratory for producing synthetic drugs and precursors with the intention of further sale and organizing deliveries in Macedonia, Serbia, and other countries” states the press release issued by the Public Prosecution for Organized Crime.
They also state that this was the 10th crime group that was arrested by OJO for Fighting Organized Crime and Corruption.
