At today’s plenary debate on the budget re-balance, Vladanka Avirovikj from VMRO-DPMNE said that most cuts are being made to funds for education and for capital investments that could be realized soon.
“There will be an economic growth of 2.2%,. only if there is a quick realization of some of the capital investments that this period was missing. There are several categories of capital projects, some which need more time and are related to public procurement and others that could be realized quickly. Building kindergartens and schools or their reconstruction goes fast. You are making cuts of 8 million denars for reconstruction, these are small endeavors, but are important for schools and kindergartens”, noted Avirovikj.
Regarding the increase in the minimum wage of 12,000 denars, Avirovikj believes that this way, it will cripple the private sector value system.
“Workers’ will be laid-off and there will be an increase in the gray economy, because capital will find its way to earn”, added Avirovikj.
Minister of Finance, Dragan Tevdovski said that it is not true that capital investments have been cut, but that they are set up on a realistic basis and even, projected optimistically.
“Until now, every budget has been falsely projected to sell the story that there is development”, said Tevdovski.
