The technical government could resolve the name dispute

-

After the signing of the agreement of Przhino, positive reactions in Brussels and attempts to assist Macedonia in order to start accession negotiations with the EU do not subside.

As “Meta” reported yesterday, with the agreement of 15 July the European diplomats believe it would be easier to convince “Greece and countries hiding behind it,” to allow Macedonia to begin to negotiate, as reforms that pledged signatories should bring significant democratic progress.

This morning a senior diplomatic source for “Meta” also commented on the signed contract.

– The reached agreement will affect the nature of the recommendation in October to start negotiations. It is very important that the Special Public Prosecutor can open an investigation on materials and that the opposition will return to Parliament – he says.

Will it be enough for Athens to raise the veto, so far no one can say with certainty, but optimism in Brussels is tangible.

– I always thought that in order to resolve the name dispute in Macedonia there must be a full consensus of all parties – says this good connoisseur of the country for “Meta,” adding that this “government of national unity”, as the diplomats in Brussels call it, would be a good opportunity for such a move.

Otherwise, Macedonia will be a topic of discussion at the foreign ministers of the EU on Monday at the regular Council of Ministers, where Commissioner Hahn will inform the Ministers of the agreement reached in Przhino. Later the same day the 12th Council for Stabilization and Association Agreement between Macedonia and the EU will be held. It will be chaired by Miroslav Lajcak, the Foreign Minister of Slovakia.
