Supreme Court has confirmed the detention for both Grujovski and Boshkovski while Jakimovski has his passport taken away

-

The Supreme Court has rejected the appeal filed by the defence attorneys of the former Head of the Administration of Security and Counter-Intelligence (UBK), Goran Grujovski and his associate, Nikola Boshkovski, and has confirmed the decisions made by the Appeal Court for a detention for both in a time period of 30 days, said the press release.

The Supreme Court’s five member Council has at the same time accepted the appeal filed by the accused Toni Jakimovski, a former official at UBK, and has reinstated the decision for a detention that was ruled by the Appeal Court, and instead, it ruled measures of precaution as was the initial ruling by Basic Court’s Criminal Council. Jakimovski will have to report to the Criminal Court for a certain period and his passports were taken away from him – the normal and the diplomatic passports and a ban has been ruled to prevent issuing other travel documents.

All three are accused by SPO in the ‘Fortress” and “Target” cases, that were merged together, regarding the illegal wiretapping of thousands of citizens through a misuse of the MoI’s surveillance systems and for the physical destruction of the surveillance equipment. Grujovski is the prime suspect, and Boshkovski, according to the charges has executed the orders.
